Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started

What is a dynamic QR code?

A code whose destination you control after it is printed. Every scan is recorded—how many, when, and roughly where—and you can send the same printed code somewhere new at any time. A static code, like the ones free generators produce, has the destination baked into the pattern and can never be changed or counted.

Do I need a website?

No. A code can point at anything with a link: a PDF menu or brochure, an Instagram post, a Google Form, a portal listing, or a WhatsApp chat with your team. You can always move it to a proper page later without touching what you printed.

How long does setup take?

A few minutes. Create an account, add your first code, point it at a link, and download the image for your designer or printer. If you would rather not do it alone, message us on WhatsApp and we will walk you through it.

Do the people scanning need an app?

No. Every modern phone reads QR codes with the built-in camera. They point, tap the notification, and your page opens. Nothing to download, no sign-up on their side.

QR codes and printing

Can I really change the destination after printing?

Yes—that is the whole point of a dynamic code. The printed pattern never changes; where it leads is a setting you can edit as often as you like, before, during, and after a campaign.

How big should the code be on printed material?

It depends on how far away people will stand—a table tent is read from centimetres away, a billboard from across a road. The reliable method is to print a test at final size, leave clear space around the code, and scan it yourself from the distance your audience will actually be at.

Can one code send different people to different pages?

Yes. Smart redirects route by device, operating system, or country, and link rotation splits traffic between destinations so you can test two offers from a single printed code.

Can I put my logo in the code?

Yes. You can add a logo to your codes so they carry your brand rather than looking generic. Keep it small and centred, and always test the finished code before it goes to print.

What happens if the page behind the code breaks?

You repoint the code and everything already printed keeps working. Expired portal listings, moved pages, and dead campaign URLs stop being an emergency.

Scans and analytics

What do you record when someone scans?

The date and time, approximate location at city or country level, device type, operating system, and browser. It is enough to compare placements and spot patterns, and no more than that.

Is a scan the same as a customer?

No. A scan is interest at the top of the funnel—someone was curious enough to point their phone at your material. What happens afterwards belongs to your own site analytics. The value of scan data is comparison: this placement against that one, this week against last.

How long is my scan history kept?

Scan retention is part of your plan—each one lists how much history it includes on the pricing table.

Do I find out who scanned my code?

No. You get counts and patterns, not names, phone numbers, or precise locations. If you want to reach the person, give them a reason to contact you on the page the code opens.

Can I export the data?

Yes, scan data can be exported to CSV on the plans that include it, so it can go straight into a report, a spreadsheet, or your own BI tool.

Plans, trial, and billing

How does the free trial work?

New accounts start on a 14-day trial with Pro features, and no card is needed to begin. Use it on a real campaign—that is the only way to know whether the numbers are useful to you.

How do I pay, and in what currency?

Card payments are handled by Paystack, in Naira or US Dollars, billed monthly or yearly. Yearly billing works out cheaper per month—use the toggle on the pricing table to compare.

Do you give refunds?

Subscription fees are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise, though we may issue credits or refunds in specific circumstances at our discretion. The Terms & Conditions set this out in full.

What happens when the trial ends?

Nothing is deleted. Your account moves to the Free plan, your existing codes keep redirecting, and the Free plan's limits apply to what you create from then on. Upgrade whenever you are ready.

Can I cancel or move to a smaller plan?

Yes. Cancellations and downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep what you are paying for until then, and nothing is cut off mid-campaign.

Privacy, domains, and control

Can I use my own domain for the links?

Yes, on the plans that include custom domains. You point a DNS record at us, we verify it, and your codes then resolve through your own domain instead of ours.

Can I manage several brands or clients in one account?

Yes. Codes can be grouped by client or project so each brand's campaigns and numbers stay separate, and you can invite team members to work alongside you. How many clients and users you get depends on the plan.

Who is responsible for privacy compliance?

We handle scan analytics as described in our Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for making sure your own campaigns, destination pages, and any data you collect there comply with the laws that apply to you.

Still have a question?

Tell us what you're printing and we'll tell you honestly whether this helps.
